Visit Lex is #LocallyLexington

Friday, October 30, 2020

To put it in their own words, Visit Lex, plain and simply loves Lexington, and that love shines through when you take a look at its website or browse its social media pages. From highlighting local restaurants and artists, to horse stables and distilleries, Visit Lex shares not only the history and culture of the city, but also the most up-to-date information about businesses and attractions all over Lexington.

With COVID-19 making travel more difficult for some, Visit Lex saw an opportunity to highlight Lexington as a safe and fun getaway, with plenty of wide-open spaces, during this time. Focusing on outdoor activities such as horse riding, ziplining and plenty of parks and trails to explore, Visit Lex has engaged travelers to come enjoy the perfect socially distant vacation spot, right here in Lexington.

COVID-19 has forced businesses to make some major and costly adjustments. To help with this, the Downtown Lexington Management District and the Downtown Lexington Partnership created a Reopening and Recovery Grant Program for downtown businesses to assist with things such as the purchase of PPE materials and expenses related to rent and staffing. Kinetic by Windstream also partnered to provide a matching technology grant to recipients, including a technology audit and a solutions roadmap to help businesses select the best technology to continue to connect with their customers during this time.

We’re thrilled that Visit Lex  is one of the many recipients of the DLMD and DLP Reopening and Recovery Grant, along with the matching technology grant from Kinetic by Windstream.

Visit Lex is helping put Lexington at the top of travelers’ minds and helping to promote businesses in the community, not just during COVID-19, but year-round. Visit Lex is truly #LocallyLexington.
